Legacy Farm and Stable

Legacy Farm and Stable has been in this area for 15 years. We are always looking to expand the horizons of those who wish to learn about horses by offering riding lessons and training, clincs and camps. Legacy Farm and Stable is dedicated to the promotion of good horse management, classical dressage training, eventing and show jumping. We are always looking for ways to bring the magic of horses into the lives of anyone that has the love of horses by teaching the most elegant of riding, classical dressage, to the adrenaline rush of eventing and basic Horsemanship for the back yard horseman. Our focus has always been families and their horses.

We sponsor the Couer du Cheval Pony Club, and support the local 4-H fair. Many of our riders are competing in National competitions. In 2006 we had 3 riders qualify to compete in the Western United Sates USPC Show Jumping Championships in Sacramento, CA. One of our riders took 2nd in the Area 7 Eventing Championships in the Novice Division.

Come and meet Joyce Morgan, the owner and school master, our riders, and trainers. Combined they have over 48 years of experience in training horse and their riders.

Joyce says:

I personally find riding, teaching, and working with horses an enjoyable, enriching, and rewarding experience. A rider with a proper foundation will find lifelong enjoyment with horses and horse activities. Good horsemanship encompasses an understanding and proficiency in many different subjects relating to horses including: health care, proper feeding and nutritional management, good basic riding skills, equine anatomy, and the development of an empathy and appreciation of the abilities and limitations inherent in the equine species.

My time spent in Germany with the Dressage master, Ulrick Shickta, was amazing and such a tremendous learning opportunity. Then I went on to ride with A.L. Lyall in the Yorkshires with his Grand Prix Dressage Horses. This was beyond my wildest expectations. Over the years I have been blessed with the chance to clinic with some of the greats in the horse industry: Hilda Gurney, Jane Savoie,
Don Sachey, Bruce Davidson and Daniel Stewart. Each of them imparting some of their knowledge and experience to the riders they are teaching, helped me to see the road is never ending but always a glorious experience.
